ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Karen Beckmann! I am a 43 year old married woman with two children.  I am a high school health, physical education, and adapted physical education teacher in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District.  In addition to being a mom, wife, and teacher, I am a basketball official, bartender, server, volunteer basketball coach, and a Certified ADHD Coach. (Phew!!! I like to stay busy.)

Growing up you could see me playing sports or running around the town on my bike looking for something to do.  All throughout middle school and high school, I was successful in sports, student council, and numerous other activities.   After graduation, I played collegiate basketball and soccer where I met my husband Eric.

All throughout the years growing up, it looked like I was a busy kid doing my stuff, but beneath the surface I was struggling with symptoms self-esteem, managing my mood, and being disorganized.  This led me to always be waiting for the ball to drop and constantly suffering from feelings of self-doubt in adequacy.  These feelings and experiences followed me into adulthood and created even more frustration as more responsibility was added to my plate.

Then, Covid Hit in 2020… That is when I really started to become more and more evident that I needed more support with the challenges that were affecting my relationships, my day to day functions, and made it hard to keep my head above water.    →this is when I was diagnosed with ADHD←

And EVERYTHING CHANGED…

For the next year, I listened to an ADHD coaching podcast (that changed my life), educated myself, started therapy, and found a supportive community where I felt like I wasn’t alone.  Relationships improved, I started medication to help support the skills that I was learning self-acceptance and grace for the mistakes that were my fault.  Built resiliency, got more confident, and improved my daily function.

In 2023, I became certified as an ADHD Life Coach to help support others who are struggling with the many challenges of living with ADHD and don't yet know the education, skills, and self acceptance to help them thrive with a neurodivergent brain.  I see this as my greatest adventure and am passionate about helping others change their life through this work!

There amazing “TOOLS” that can be learned used to help someone take control of their THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS!
